Stupid Windows Live limit make me hav to break my Mykonos portion into 2 blogs… grrrr…. *angry*
Where did I stop arh? Oh ya! Dinner at Nikos Tavern. This is the outlook of e restaurant lo. Quite a lot ppl go there aybe mentioned in some guidebook or something.
After dinner, we went to walk walk ard the town. Even tho the town looks rather small but its like a maze so there r still some lanes we didnt explore.
Saw this display window with these chunky gold necklaces which lead me to think of 四点金. lol… hahah Thick enuff mah!
Saw this amazing shop which sells just white clothings… dress, shirt, skirt, blouse all in white! haha.. Not cheap k! I anyhow see a few price tag also need 50-60 Euro for a simple white top…. Wonder who will buy….

Saw alot of these al fresco kind of dining in Greece. I supposed it makes sense over there cuz e air is dry there so u wun feel stickier n stickier as e minute goes by. What kind of ppl wud want to dine al fresco in Spore!? haha always very amazed by ppl sitting in the hot humid air outside instead of the cool, dry air indoor. haha… This setup is quite nice hor. Like e flowers.
Just spend! Worry tml! hahah….
Globalisation means u get to see familiar brands even when u r far far away frm home =D
Power supply must not b very gd cuz e power tripped twice during our short walk through e town. First time, we r in a shop n e lights came back shortly after. But it was pitch black so kinda scared kenna pick pocketed. 2nd time, we r in an alley n just nice got stones for us to sit on., so we sit there look at stars. Some shops closed their doors when e lights go out. Only reopen after they dig out their candles or torchlights. Guess they also scared ppl steal frm them.
After walking ard, we decided to settle down at Cafe Veranda (yeap where we had our crepe lunch e day before) for a drink. haha… I had Ouzo again! =D yum yum… cool minty taste in e cold breeze is quite shiok. =p Really can feel the heat travelling down ur throat. Didnt stay very long for e drinks cuz we need to go back pack up n go Santorini tml!!! haha…. 0845hr ferry~~~ We supposed to leave hotel at 0730hr…. zzzz….
Wednesday 8th Sept 2010 Mykonos –> Santorini Fira
Today we going to leave Mykonos for Santorini. Checked out at 0730. E local guide, Apollo, actually came to send us off. Haha I mean it’s like he come to e hotel say Kalimera (Gd morning) then at e harbor, he said bye. Haha… Thats all and I was pretty sure he was up quite late e nite before cuz we saw him leading some tour at 10+pm at the Mykonos Town. haha…. When we parted at the harbor, he said if we got any problem in Santorini, we can gib him a call n he will try to help even tho he in Mykonos. Haha so frenly… Still remember he met us at e harbor in berms n a slightly burnt look. Hahah classic summer look~~~ Boo hoo nvr took picture with him =(
OK stop drooling over him. Took e Flying Cat 3 to Santorini. Not as big as High Speed le.
This one cannot fetch cars de :p then not alot of racks to put luggage so quite a few passengers hav their luggages next to their seats. Boat ride was rather shaky during the initial set off. Luckily I fell asleep soon after. :p
Kinda disappointed when we arrive at Santorini cuz e harbor area not as pretty as Mykonos’. In fact, it looked kinda barren.
From the harbor, we took e tour bus to Santorini Palace. So sickening, the driver dropped us some distance frm e hotel. So in e end, we hav to carry our stuff n walked a very steep slope. Lucky mine is luggage so can just pull it along. Quite a few hav their handcarry so hav to lug it up.
Have seen some bad reviews abt tis hotel. Heng arh, e hotel is not as bad as I tot it to b. Haha e pool oversees a beautiful horizon. N e corridor outside my rm also oversees e horizon.
Then there is e postcard view frm e entrance of e hotel.
But inside e rm is another story. Haha e taps r e old kind. See! Wah lao hav to adjust the hot and cold amt to get e temperature u want. sianz…
E toilet is still e dun-throw-paper-into-e-toilet-bowl kind.
Bed is abit soft and pillow is too flat. Lucky their cupboards got another one. haha otherwise sleep on such flat pillow tink will get neckache. Oh ya and there’s no safety box! zzz…..
Near the hotel there’s bus stop too! As Santorini was bigger hence there’s a few more routes. There are even buses to bring me to Red Beach! But I didnt have time to go. Boo hoo~
E most redeeming feature of e hotel is it’s quite close to Fira town. Just 10 minutes walk bah. After settling down, we left for the Fira town! Hahaha.. wanted to go Selene Restaurant which was quite recommended by a few webby and even the Lonely Planet book. But then it seems kinda far so in e end we settled for gyros at Mc Daniel’s. haha… But err I forgot to take pic of e pork gyros =p I just gobbled e food down! It was very nice! Hahaha…
Then we had ice cream. Wah e mango sorbet which our guide ordered is fantastic!! Haha… The orange sorbet was not bad too. Very refreshing. The shopfront. haha… The guy is quite cute too =p
Spent our afternoon shopping in e town. Tink we must b quite deprived frm shopping. Haha bought quite a bit of accessories n tidbits n some other Knicks knacks. Bought 2 small bottles of ouzo frm here too! Was thinking whether to buy some more haha… I even bought a pink hairband! Tadah!
I must b mad! Wonder when I wud get to wear it again hahha….. Since we bought alot of stuff and the hotel wasnt very far, we decided to go back put stuff then come out for dinner. Along e way to dinner, saw tis beautiful scenery so decided to take picture! haha….
Selene Restaurant actually moved to some dunno wat place le! So in the we settled for Ellis Restaurant which was near to Selene too. Sidetrack abit, Joy they all actually ventured to e ulu place tat Selene moved to. However, their reviews of e food wasn’t fantastic; they say its like fine dining and its not exceptionally nice.
OK back to Ellis food. The tomato ball is quite nice!
The salad is not bad! Cuz they didnt hav much cheese in it. hahah…. And there are hard boiled eggs.
E restaurant overlooks e caldera hahah so hav quite nice view. After ordering e food, we went to the balcony of restaurant to take pictures of e Fira town and e caldera view. haha The hairband pic was taken there too… Then when appetizers arrive, our tour lead will call us to eat. Then eat a while, sunset timing liao then we go take pic again! hahah Tadah! Sunset pic !
Then my lamb chops arrived! Ok… it dun hav e 羊 sao 味 but it wasnt very tender so hav a hard time cutting it. Haha… actually food there is not veeerrryyyy ex la. The following lamb chop costs 12 Euros only.
Eat halfway then I go out take pic again cuz after sun sets, there’s a nice colour of e skies! See!
And also Fira will light up! Think the town looks quite nice at this timing; after e sun sets and before e skies darken.
Haha… thoughout dinner, FL and I were walking to n fro our seats. Then we had dinner with our tour lead and this husband-wife couple from our tour group. Wah the husband-wife couple very dignified de they only left seat once to take pic of sunset only haha… Wonder if they tink we very 井底蛙. haha… But I also dunno when I will go there again! Must take pic for memories mah! hahah… Was kinda tempted to take their camera n help them take pics too =p
Haha… We sat till the skies turned dark. haha… e waiters came over and ask if they can serve us desserts …. on e house! bwhahah…. The greenish thing is fruits in some kind of minty sauce then the red colour wan is strawberry rice pudding. The strawberry rice pudding tastes kinda 腻 at first but the more I ate it, e better I like it. haha! In e end I was e one who finished it cuz we were like err ppl so nice give us then leave the whole bowl there like not very nice mah =p
After dinner, we wandered ard the town, had ice cream and shopped ard. haha… Saw this restaurant along the cliff. Looks quite romantice hor… excuse e tomatoes haha… but the sea is totally dark at nite so guess it can be abit scary to peer into darkness while u r having ur dinner?
We walked along this path thats goes slight lower than the Fira town. haha the walk back up to the town left me kinda breathless not cuz of e view but cuz need quite a bit of energy to walk e steep path. haha… Best part is this path is used by donkeys too! So there are donkey shit along the path to stink e place up. =S And I was eating ice cream then –_- Nevertheless I still managed to get this grp of girls to help me take pic of the night view of Fira! hahah….
And this ended our first day at Santorini! haha… Think shall leave the day 2 of Santorini to the next blog before e blog complains exceed limit again =P
